I don't know about your house, but here at the residence I reside in it's always a festive time of year. It's right up there with Christmas and is truly a family affair. Mom buys all sorts of red candies and fills the dishes, changes the table clothes and napkins to white and red, dad gets out the flags and puts them in the planters out front, my brother gets a case of beer...and I make a strawberry sponge cake and attempt to make a maple leaf out of strawberries on top.. however one year I was accused of making a marijuana leaf by my mother.. whatever.. what has she been smoking?
If you are Canadian and you love to deck out your house this is the perfect project... of course if you sew. But really, it's a good beginner project and you can have alot of fun.
It's a lovely table runner to show your Canadian colours and flag. It's super simple even if you only have basic sewing skills.

I stumbled across it a few months ago and decided to whip it up for the dining room table.
You can find it here on Sew Sisters blog

I used Steam a Seam instead of wonder under and bought some basic fabrics down at fabric land. You can satin stitch around the applique however with Steam a Seam you don't HAVE to which is awesome.

You can't really see it but on the red I randomly stippled OH CANADA on it. Shame I should had put it on the white to make it more visible.

So yes.. It's a little early.. but HAPPY CANADA DAY!!!
